What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the body with emphasis on core strength, posture, balance, flexibility and coordination, improving general fitness and overall well-being.
About the teacher
Mara is a comprehensively qualified Pilates teacher and Gyrotonic teacher, with an extensive career in movement and dance. She has worked with people from all walks of life and all levels of fitness.
She has an MA in choreography from London Contemporary Dance School. She splits her time teaching movement, creating dances and as choreography mentor for students at the London Studio Centre.
Her continuing exposure to creative practices, and her passion for dance and movement greatly influence her teaching. Since her arrival in the UK she has continued to dance and choreograph, bringing her movement exploration and a sense of creativity and play to her class.
