Community Animator (Community Builder)

Salary: £24,000 Pro Rata

The Boiler House Community Space is a dynamic, community-based charity that focuses on developing & highlighting assets, generally under-used buildings and people that benefit the widest possible cross-section of our local communities. To do this, the Boiler House has an established role as a connector, bringing together local organisations and individuals to nurture grassroots activities that empower and support local people.
We are looking for a flexible and organised individual with excellent interpersonal skills to join our small team as Community Animator. The Community Animator will lead an important community research and engagement project with groups and individuals across West Hackney. The Community Animator will carry out a variety of work to understand the needs of our local communities and individuals, and stimulate debate, discussion and action by these groups in partnership with the Boiler House. This activity will inform the charity’s strategic planning so that we develop our programmes in line with the needs of those we serve.
The post is funded for six months in the first instance but part of the role will be to contribute to funding applications that may extend this post.
